Queen Letizia news: Letizia and King Felipe make new stop on royal tour | Royal | News
Letizia donned an elegant navy blue dress with light blue brush stroke print for the occasion. Spain’s Queen complemented the outfit with some beige wedges and a sleek ponytail.
Her minimal, natural-looking makeup was partially covered by a face mask that she wore in order to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
The monarchs are currently on a royal tour through some of Spain’s autonomous communities in order to support local tourism.
The tour includes engagements involving diverse sectors of Spain’s economy as well as visits to social and economic hotspots.
Spain was one of Europe’s hardest-hit nations by the coronavirus pandemic, accounting for over 28,000 deaths.
Felipe VI wore a long sleeve shirt in a similar colour to his wife’s dress, paired with smart khaki trousers and a pair of brown leather shoes.
During the engagement the royal couple took a leisurely walk around Seville alongside government spokesperson and Finance Minister Maria Jesus Montero.
They were welcomed by crowds of fans who gathered at either side of their walk as they waved flags.
On Sunday the pair visited Palma de Mallorca and Letizia looked elegant in a recycled flowy green summer dress by Maje, which she also donned on July 25 2019.
King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia were constantly followed by their security employees as well as crowds of fans.
The president of the Government of the Balearic Islands, Francina Armengol joined the pair during their stroll.
She pointed out the measures Palma had introduced to ensure visitors could walk the promenade safely.
Last Monday, the monarchs began their tour of Spain in the Canary Islands and they were met by cheering crowds in Las Palmas, the capital of Gran Canaria.
It comes after Spain reopened its borders on June 21 following a stringent lockdown.
Speaking to BBC News Spain’s foreign minister, Arancha González Laya, said: “We will allow British visitors to enter Spain just like the rest of the European Union as from 21 June, freely and without the need for a quarantine.
“We’re discussing with the UK authorities to see if they would do the same on their side.
“We nevertheless are doing this out of respect for the 400,000 British citizens that have a second residence in Spain and are dying to benefit from their homes in our country.”
“Spain is opening up for tourism again,” said Spain’s prime minister, Pedro Sánchez, as he announced the move.
“We are world leaders and that’s why every step we take will be a safe step.
“Through prudence and responsibility we will show that Spain is a safe and healthy destination.”
