Queen Elizabeth II news: Former royal chef shares hilarious moment with Queen | Royal | News
TV chef Rick Stein described the time he cooked her majesty one of his favourite dishes. He said cooking for Her Majesty was “a high moment” – made only better by her great sense of humour.
He reflected: “I cooked for the Queen once. I did turbot, which is one of my favourite fish.”
But while the chef was working hard to get everything right for the Queen, The Queen reportedly took one look and said: “Oh you’re the cook.”
What’s more, the chef recalled another occasion in 2012 where he met The Queen with Jamie Oliver.
He explained: “Once, we were at Buckingham Palace, it was a kids’ schools cookery competition and one of the finalists was from Cornwall, so I was invited and Jamie Oliver was invited, and I was standing in a line-up with name tags.

Philip is said to be a fan of both Rick Stein and Jamie Oliver’s work
“She peered at mine and says, “Philip likes your programme”, and then looks at Jamie’s and says, “He likes yours too, so you must be doing something right!”
Rick added: “She’s got a sense of humour, I do like her.”
Last year, The Queen’s personal dresser also revealed Her Majesty has a “wicked sense of humour”.
She added that the Queen loves mimicking accents as she gave a rare insight into their friendship.
Rick Stein said cooking for Her Majesty was ‘a high moment’
The Queen’s senior dresser, Angela Kelly, has worked for the royal household for more than 25 years, and has established a “uniquely close working relationship with The Queen”.
Angela’s official title is Her Majesty’s Personal Advisor, Curator, Wardrobe and In-house Designer – the only person to ever hold the position.
She is now solely responsible for the Queen’s public outfits, and was the mastermind behind the lemon yellow ensemble which she wore to Prince William and Kate Middleton’s wedding.
Angela, 51, gave a rare insight into her friendship with the 93-year-old, revealing the monarch has a talent for copying accents.

The Queen reportedly took one look at Rick Stein and said: ‘Oh you’re the cook.’
Angela revealed the great-grandmother can perfectly copy a Scouse accent, as well as a host of others.
She made the revelation in rare interview in 2007, where she also praised the monarch’s wit.
Angela said: “We have a lot of fun together.
“The Queen has a wicked sense of humour and is a great mimic.

“She can do all accents — including mine.”
Angela, LVO, is publishing a book about her work.
The book reflects on her nearly three decades of service, featuring never-before-seen photos of the Queen.
This is due to be released in October.
In 2012 Rick also met The Queen with Jamie Oliver
The book is called ‘The Other Side of the Coin: The Queen, the Dresser and the Wardrobe’.
Angela even received permission from the monarch herself to publish it.
The unprecedented memoir is described online as: “Whether it’s preparing for a formal occasion or brightening Her Majesty’s day with a playful joke, Angela’s priority is to serve and support.
“Sharing never-before-seen photographs – many from Angela’s own private collection – and charming anecdotes of their time spent together, this revealing book provides memorable insights into what it’s like to work closely with The Queen, to curate her wardrobe and to discover a true and lasting connection along the way.”
